There is a particular celebration in Japan for the young people who officially turn adults; the Coming of Age celebration takes place each year on the second Monday of January.
Companies and local organizations prepare events that the 20 year-old people attend, wearing the Japanese traditional kimono. The girls like to wear gorgeous updos, make-ups and nails to go along for the special occasion.
Let’s see what hairstyles were popular this year!
The day of the celebration, it is busy for the girls: they have to get up early and go to a beauty salon, qualified for kimono dressing as well as for hair updo and make-up. The whole preparation takes from 45min to 2 hours and the earliest ones start preparing at 4AM…
The recent years, braids have been popular. This year made no exception.
And we saw also a lot of ribbons made with hair, a bit like an accessory! Creative!
The past recent years, the high updos have been popular but this year we saw a lot of girls having low updos, giving a more classy and chic impression.
Tradition is kept but beauty styles evolve with the time, always different and creative!
