In Japan, the legal age is 20. Once you are 20 years old, you can officially vote, drink alcohol and drive a car.
There is a particular celebration in Japan for the young people who officially turn adults; the Coming of Age celebration takes place each year on the second Monday of January.
Companies and local organizations prepare events that the 20 year-old people attend, wearing the Japanese traditional kimono. The girls like to wear gorgeous updos, make-ups and nails to go along for the special occasion.

The day of the celebration, it is busy for the girls: they have to get up early and go to a beauty salon, qualified for kimono dressing as well as for hair updo and make-up. The whole preparation takes from 45min to 2 hours and the earliest ones start preparing at 4AM…
