Eyelashes change everything on a face. Even when you don’t wear any make-up, having long and full eyelashes gives you a more luxurious and pretty look. As you may have guessed from my numerous posts about eyelashes, such as the one about the eyelash perm or the other about the eyelash curler, I really DO care about my eyelashes and like to treat and boost them.
As I have tried many eyelash serums in the past, I thought it was time to make a review for the newbies who want to start growing their eyelashes!
I have to say my favorite stays the first eyelash serum I have ever tried: Revitalash. The result was amazing. My eyelashes literally doubled in length and also got thicker.
However, the formula is not suited to sensitive skin; you are supposed to apply once per day before going to bed. Some mornings, my skin around the eyes was red or a bit swollen. As for me, even with this irritation, I kept on using, because of the result!!
Another demerit and maybe the ultimate one: it is a pricy product. The official price is $150 for 3.5ml!! Though, I found one for $104 on eBay that you can access from the link below, if you want to give it a try!
So I had to find an alternative more gentle to my wallet. There I found the BeuatyLash, that became very quickly my new favorite eyelash serum!!
Indeed the Beautylash is much more attractively priced (around $45) and has about the same efficacy than the RevitaLash, in addition to the fact that it is more gentle to the skin too!!
The usage is exactly the same; you have to apply once in the evening with the applicator that looks like an eyeliner.
However, recently the formula in Japan has changed to a milder one and since then, the growth is much less spectacular than before. Therefore it is best to use the original formula from the USA.
Adenovital Eyelash Serum, Shiseido
Quite a disappointment for this product; I absolutely couldn’t see any efficacy at all. All my eyelashes became to normal from the long and thick ones that I had achieved with the other products…
Although the hair products from Adenovital are very popular and I understand the fame since I could indeed see some hair growth by using the products, the one derived from them for the eyelashes was not impressive. Maybe it was only me?!
Luckily the price is reasonable as you can see on the link below. Let me know if you see any changes on your side!
DHC Eyelash Tonic
DHC, the Japanese cosmetic brand expanding also overseas now, is well known for its original products based on virgin olive oil. The Deep Cleansing Oil is one of the representative products from DHC.
The Eyelash Tonic has conditioning ingredients to treat the eyelashes and give body.
I can see the treatment effect and the shine after application. You can also use it before your makeup, so I sometimes use it before curling my lashes with an electrical curler for example to protect them from the heat.
However, we cannot expect any enhancement in eyelash growth with this product. For me, it’s just a treatment.
Scalp D Beauté Pure Free Eyelash Premium
The last product I’ll talk to you about today is this one, launched by the franchise ScalpD originally specialized in hair growth and scalp treatment products. This version is the upgraded one of the original eyelash serum, with 2 times more treating ingredients. It also contains 3 natural flowers extracts, certified organic by Ecocert, on top being free of silicone, oil, artificial fragrance, artificial colorants, preservatives and surfactants.
This serum is meant to treat not only the eyelashes but also the fragile skin around the eyes and provide an anti-ageing effect.
The price is competitive for the result it brought. The eyelash growth is not as amazing as the two first products but we can clearly see the eyelashes are longer and fuller. To be judged on the pictures! No irritation was ever felt, so it is also suited to sensitive skin.
This product can be found in most of variety stores in Japan and on eBay too; the link is below.
I hope you will find your fit among these serums!
