Woah time flies! In less than 3 months, we will say goodbye to 2017!?
Anyway, it’s been a while since I wrote a post so it’s time to catch up!
Have you heard about the brand Cle de Peau Beaute? If not yet, here are some of the products for you to discover it and the latest flagship store that has just opened in Omotesando!
About Cle de Peau Beaute
Cle de Peau Beaute is the most premium brand from Shiseido, the Japanese cosmetic company. The core category is skincare and the products are designed on the technological concept of “brain skin theory” claiming that the skin, just like brain, is capable of thinking and processing data.
One of the star products is the concealer, which I’ve already written about in another post.
The similarly shaped “Teint Stick Eclat”, the stick foundation has just won the best cosmetic award for 2017 1st half from the magazine Biteki.
Cle de Peau Beaute Skincare
Today I’ll present you 2 skincare products from Cle de Peau.
Protection Energisante Fraiche
In Japan, it’s sold under the name Protection F.
There is another version of the product which has a higher moisturizing level (in Japanese “Shittori” version vs “Sappari” version). I chose the lighter version as summer just ended here and I felt that my skin is still enough hydrated, although I normally always go for the Shittori version.
A noticeable thing about this brand is the beautiful packaging and the small details. On top of the very chic gold box, the fancy bottle comes in a protective slim bag; Just like if you had bought a luxury bag or shoes!
Ingredients
The emulsion contains Cle de Peau’s original “illuminating complex” based on silk, hyaluronic acid among others, that gives you a bright glow and protects the skin from the UVs, while keeping it moisturized all day. It includes a sun protection of SPF25, so it’s a day emulsion, not to be used at the night.
So Cle de Peau Beaute separates daycare with UV protection and night care which heals the skin submitted to UVs during the day, which means that you have an extra product to your standard skincare routine.
Review
One push gives you a quite big amount of the emulsion, actually too much for me. The texture is rich but fluid. It looks like coconut milk, similar a to a sunscreen actually.
The emulsion spreads on the skin easily. The fragrance is very subtle and gentle, based on wild rose and orchid. It’s lovely!
The finish is not greasy but moisturized and glowing. All day long, the healthy glow stayed and I haven’t felt the lack of moisture.
I think it’s a great moisturizer. However the only and surprising thing that’s not great: the first time I applied the emulsion all over the face, just like I’m used to, it hurt my eyes!! It really never happened before with any skincare nor makeup product so I was very surprised. It’s obviously a disadvantage as you are not supposed to avoid around the eyes when applying an emulsion…
Also, I just found out that this product has been renewed and is now called “Emulsion Fortifiante Protectrice”. The shittori and the sappari versions were merged and now there is only one version with a higher level of moisture than this emusion. And maybe this new one doesn’t hurt the eyes!

Luckily this time, I happened to have bought together the eye cream!
Creme Contour des Yeux
This cream is an anti-aging cream for eyes.
It comes on a fancy tray, with a special eye massage tool coated in pure platinum and some explanations on how to do massage.
Not only this cream prevents the fine lines and wrinkles but also helps to improve the sagging and the under-eyes bags.
The key ingredients are Licorice Extract, Tormentilla Extract, and Star Fruit Leaf Extract.
Review
The cream has an unusual light blue-green color and is very thick. The fragrance is the same as for the emulsion; very light and nice.
It feels nice to apply it around the eyes, as it is very emollient and it deeply moisturizes but still leaves the skin velvety after.
Rolling the special tool around the eyes is very refreshing and relaxing.
Some people feel the effect after one week. In my case, it may take longer. My eyes are well moisturized but I still see some fine lines. Let’s see if it improves with time!
At least, the product gives me an emotional benefit: the beautiful packaging, the gentle fragrance, the fancy tray, the precious tool, and the nice texture, all together makes me feel luxurious and good 😉 Knowing the price, you may say it’s the least we can expect, though…
