As it’s getting colder and colder here in Tokyo, it’s a great idea to get beautiful nails to cheer us up! Indeed having shiny studs, bright colors and sophisticated patterns on the nails can only make a woman happy!
As I mentioned in my previous posts about Japanese nailart, people here get inspired from various fields when it comes to nailart and we like to match the nail designs to season too.
So what are the Tokyo trends for nails for autumn winter this year?
Not only colors and patters create trends; following the fashion trends for F/W 2016, fur, material or real piece of fur!! is booming for nails as well!
2. Tartan & Checks
Tartan and checks trend comes back every year. However, the nail designs are diversified with the patterns coming in different sizes and colors.
Just like Chanel, Prada, Moschino and many others, quilting in Japanese nailart is in trend this year again, making us look all comfy and warm!
4. Animal patterns
Leopard skin pattern sounds like nothing new, however never gets old-fashioned, especially since it has been extensively used in fashion this year! Other animal skin patterns bring some newness in nails, such as Dalmatian pattern! Even the old traditional leopard pattern, as used partially, feels much more sophisticated!
5. Mirror nail
Last but not least, I want to present you one of the biggest trends right now, the mirror nail.
You may know, this technique comes from the US. Of course Japanese nail artists have studied and arranged it to be integrated in a sophisticated way in their fine nail art.
You apply a base color gel first, followed by the special gel for mirror nail. Then you cover with the mirror nail powder that you apply and polish with a chip, similar to the one for eyeshadows.
I just tried the latest trend in #nailart, the #mirrornail! The technique comes from the US and offers a variety of new nail designs to Japanese nail artists! Depending on what shade of gel you apply the mirror nail powder on, you get a different and unique color shade! So fun! More about it on my blog>nail!! #japonisminbeauty #japanesenailart #japanesenails #naildesigns #gelnails #美甲
Mirror nail offers a lot of possibilities as depending on the used shade of gel, it creates a unique color. So if you use a black gel, you’ll obtain a metallic black shade!
I went to try on my nails! I ordered to our nailist Miki, a milky pink as a base color so it made a sort of super pretty champagne pink mirror nail!
Also the pointy almond nail shape seems to be the trend here.
A few studs and big pearls to make the whole design gorgeous! I find it really classy and futuristic at the same time!
Mirror shine on all the fingers may be too much for everyday for some of us. Luckily, Japanese nailists always know how to arrange it for us!!
I hope you liked it. If you are in Tokyo and interested in having these beautiful nail designs, even without leaving the comfort of your hotel room or house, just let us know! Our experienced nail artists will be happy to create a unique design for you!
